Hello, my name is Marcello.
From a very young age, the transverse flute has held a central place in my life. Over time, this musical connection evolved into a deeper passion: understanding the instrument, improving it, and ultimately crafting it.
At first, with limited means to afford a professional flute, I began making my own mouthpieces.
The aim was simple: to enhance the sound of student flutes, so that they could offer sensations and expressiveness approaching that of professional instruments.
Along the way, I discovered an essential truth: 70% of a flute’s sound comes from its mouthpiece.
It is the mouthpiece that determines the colour, projection, and character of the instrument’s voice.
Over time, this work became a true passion. Today, every Marcello Flutes mouthpiece is entirely hand-carved, following the tradition of the great French masters Louis Lot and Godfroy.
